Job description

Do you have a passion for research and ancestry? The Orange County California Genealogical Society (OCCGS) at Huntington Beach Public Library (HBPL) is looking for volunteers.

Those best suited for this volunteer position have an interest in history and ancestry and want to help others. Some volunteer positions require computer usage. Training is provided.

About OCCGS

The Orange County California Genealogical Society (established in 1963) is a non-profit, educational organization in Huntington Beach with 400 members. Its purpose is to collect, preserve and disseminate knowledge and information in regards to genealogy and related historical, biographical and heraldic data. It strives to instill and promote interest and instruction in genealogical research. OCCGS provides full maintenance and development of the Genealogy Collection housed at the Huntington Beach Central Library (lower level), which now contains over 23,000 volumes.

Adults 18 and over are welcome to apply. Volunteers are needed when the HBPL Central Library is open. Central Library is normally open 7 days per week.
