What are the typical responsibilities of a library cleaning staff member?

Library cleaning staff are responsible for ensuring all public and staff areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors. This typically includes dusting and disinfecting surfaces, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming carpets, emptying trash and recycling bins, and sometimes caring for specialty areas like reading rooms or computer labs. Attention may also be given to preserving bookshelves and high-touch resources, using cleaning products that are safe for sensitive materials.
