Job description

POSITION:

Library Media Paraprofessional (Middle School)

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Building Principal

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Checking out/in library books, maintain overdue book list, receipt library fines, and reshelf library books. Gives and receives simple instructions and respond to inquiries from students and staff. Catalogue and process new books. Dust, clean and check bookshelves. Able to demonstrate the proper use of computer equipment and software. Typing, filing and operating computers. Assisting with inventory. Assisting financial records. Maintaining inventory of and ordering supplies. Entering copy cataloging into MARC records. Following processing procedures established by the LMS. Maintain a clean, orderly and attractive environment and assisting in the preparation of displays. Covers classes and duties such as lunch and bus duties when requested. Submit reports and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must meet the USDE Highly Qualified Standard by having one of the folllowing: Completion of 48 semester hours of college coursework. Associate’s degree from two-year college or technical school. Must pass the state approved para-professional test given by the district.
