Job description

Major Position Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Cleans offices, entrances, hallways, meeting rooms, lounges
  • Reports areas where repairs are needed, checks for safety
  • Checks student common areas for supplies
  • Keeps guest rooms ready at all times
  • Cleans and sanitizes sinks, toilets, and surrounding areas
  • Dusts furniture, cleans windows, vacuums carpet
  • Empties trash containers
  • Cleans resident priest rooms

Cleans offices, Miller Gym, Library, Lecture Hall, Vocations Office and Meyer Hall

  • Reports areas where repairs are needing, checks for safety
  • Cleans and sanitizes sinks, toilets and surrounding areas
  • Dusts furniture, cleans windows and vacuums carpets
  • Empties trash containers

Miscellaneous duties as assigned

  • Prepare rooms for meetings
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and orders all products
  • Aids with special events, including some kitchen help

Position Specifications/Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic housekeeping procedures
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to communicate with priests and students and be sensitive to their needs
  • Flexibility due to changing needs
  • Ability to keep a high standard of privacy for sensitive issues

Education, Training, and/or Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in housekeeping and knowledge of guest relations with willingness to learn

Compensation: starting at $15 per hour and above depending upon experience

Working Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking and lifting up to 30lbs
  • Occasional use of hazardous chemicals and cleaning products
