Job Summary
This position supports the work of the library and/or learning commons by managing the circulation functions of an assigned library/learning commons location, supervising student assistants, and assisting with library functions, such as but not limited to events/programs, maintaining a popular book collection, and professional development.
Responsibilities
  • Opens/closes the library and/or learning commons as assigned and performs tasks to prepare for daily operation that ensures an orderly and neat student friendly appearance of the space, including updating signage, shelving books, and printer/copier maintenance
  • Manages the circulation functions of the assigned library location, including hiring, training, and supervising student assistants
  • Promotes library services and college programs to students, faculty, staff, and community members through outreach and marketing
  • Processes GIL Express, Intercampus Loan requests, and reserves
  • Maintains and inventories office and library supplies
  • Assists with collection development and selection for the poptitle collection
  • Attends meetings, training sessions, workshops, and webinars
  • Submits repair requests, work orders, and trouble tickets to appropriate personnel
  • Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
  • Performs related duties

Required Qualifications
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an associate degree or two (2) years work experience
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
