This employee will perform library duties in the areas of reference, research, collection development, readers' advisory, acquisitions, circulation, reserve, media, library technology, instructional programs, and classifications of library materials
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Bachelor's Degree in library science, information science or related field and experience in library systems and operations. Master's Degree preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of library organization, research procedures, and available library services. Knowledge of library automated information systems. Knowledge of library classification systems and standard cataloging rules. Knowledge of general collection development principles. Knowledge of customer service, accounting, bookkeeping and handling of cash. Understanding of library services for people with disabilities. Ability to manage a library department. Ability to analyze requests and select best reference sources. Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and exercise initiative. Ability to perform instruction and/or provide informational workshops to students about library services.

Library Services:
  • Circulation, reference, research, cataloging, acquisitions, collection development, interlibrary loan, PASCAL, media, library instruction.
  • Reviewing policies and procedures, observations, analysis, assessment, reports and suggestions for strategic goals.
  • Work with Head Librarian and Associate Dean to suggest and implement strategic goals for increase growth in library spaces.
  • Plan and coordinate engagement activities promoting the library.

Instruction, professional development and service to the profession and campus by conducting informational workshops to the community and students about library services, participate in campus committees, and participate in professional development opportunities available through the university and outside sources to ensure the library stays current and relevant.
