Job Description:
Summary:
  • The Senior/Principal Electronic Test Engineer will be a part of the R&D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare.
  • You will be a technical resource working on development of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • There will be direct contribution from prototype to verification builds and tests within a regulated medical device development environment.
  • This role is suited for a hands-on, R&D electronic test engineer proficient in detailed testing of electronic printed circuit boards, debugging electronic issues, performing soldering and mechanical reworks related to PCBAs, constructing prototype cables/harnesses for testing and updating eCAD part libraries.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate in creation and refinement of test cases
  • Collaborate in creating test environment
  • Execute PCB tests for design verification and characterization
  • Perform soldering reworks for prototype updates and test point harnessing
  • Debugging electronic issues and determining root cause
  • Constructing cables and harnesses for test fixtures and prototypes
  • Support in repairs and updates to existing prototype robotic systems
  • Support documentation in accordance with EVR quality system
  • Maintain and update eCAD part libraries
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in testing electronics
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronical engineering or similar. Associate's degree with experience is acceptable.
  • Experience in heavily-regulated industries such as medical device, or aerospace is desired
  • Must know how to evaluate at least 3 of the following: Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, BISS-C, motor commutation
  • Must have hands on test experience
  • Deep understanding of PCBA testing during official design verification is highly desired
  • Must have excellent soldering skills and experience
  • Outstanding documentation and communication skills required
  • Strong fundamentals for electronics is desired
