About the Opportunity
Hixson Architecture, Engineering, Interiors is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Structural BIM/CAD Technician to join our Structural Engineering department. In this role, you’ll assist Hixson’s BIM Manager with processes and 3D modeling efforts for large-scale industrial and commercial facility projects—some exceeding $500 million. Working within an integrated team of architects, engineers, and project managers, you’ll apply your technical expertise to create accurate, coordinated, and high-quality models and drawings while mentoring others and driving best practices in BIM.
What You’ll Do
  • Maintain and oversee BIM processes for Structural, Civil, and Environmental engineering teams
  • Implement and maintain Structural BIM standards and execution plans for projects
  • Lead Structural BIM setup and ensure accuracy, coordination, and compliance
  • Provide training and technical support for structural engineering team members
  • Create and maintain Structural BIM model and drawing templates throughout project lifecycles
  • Perform clash detection, model coordination, and problem resolution
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to streamline workflows and improve outcomes
  • Maintain and update structural general notes and detail libraries
  • Stay current with BIM technology trends, software updates, and industry best practices
What You Bring
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in BIM and CAD environments
  • Expert-level proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
  • Strong ability to read and develop structural drawings
  • Proficiency in developing structural construction documents and in using Bluebeam Projects and/or Sessions
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions
