About Us

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.

Job Summary

This position will provide drafting and engineering support to the Mesa Energy Systems Engineering Group. The Mechanical Drafter II will apply their drafting experience to support the Engineers and Team Members. This person will be presented with various projects in the commercial, industrial, government, healthcare and education markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform various tasks assigned by Mechanical Engineers, Senior Engineers, and the Engineering Manager/Director. Assist in producing detailed schematics for HVAC systems based on instructions and pre-established guidelines. Assist Mechanical Engineers by participating in job site surveys to gather as-built technical information. Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from Mechanical Engineers. Convert field surveys into usable formats for plan and project development. Use AutoCAD to develop plans. Participate in the company's project improvement process by maintaining/improving CAD Detail Library and CAD Standards and actively seeking out new CAD Drafting technologies. Other duties may include copying/printing/scanning, assembly of equipment submittal packages, assistance in preparing work scope, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or a 1-year certificate program from a community college or technical school, focusing on CAD software, design fundamentals, and blueprint reading. 4+ years of CAD Drafting experience with formal AutoCAD/REVIT Drafting training/certification. Must be capable of making autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements and be able to manage multiple projects at any given time. Possess a working knowledge of Permitting submittal requirements in the Mechanical field. Computer savvy, actively learning new software programs. Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and other related software applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and work and communication with all departments within the Company. Reasonable understanding of HVAC Systems and Components (Hot Water, Chilled Water, Condensing Water, Chillers, Fans, Heat Pumps, etc.)
