WHY PRESCIENT?
Prescient is a global risk management and intelligence services firm. Our Due Diligence, Investigations, Cyber, and Intelligence Practices help Fortune 500 companies, law firms, and financial institutions mitigate risk and uncover mission-critical information. Headquartered in Chicago, IL with offices in Arlington, VA; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; and Dublin, Ireland, Prescient's team of former military personnel, intelligence officers, law enforcement agents, and corporate investigators is proficient in multiple foreign languages and has decades of experience conducting due diligence, corporate investigations, and intelligence collection operations in over 110 countries. We provide stakeholders with actionable information to address challenges related to compliance, investments, physical & cyber security, and litigation, among others.
POSITION SUMMARY
Prescient will consider candidates for its various office locations.
Prescient's cyber practice helps enterprise, law firm, financial services, and private clients manage their cyber risk and uncover critical intelligence from the open, deep, and dark web using state-of-the-art technology. Our Executive Digital Protection (EDP) program is one of the flagship offerings of the practice and was built to help corporate executives, celebrities, and high-net-worth individuals understand their online footprint and mitigate physical and digital risks. We are seeking highly motivated, creative investigative professionals to join our EDP team and work with the best in the business on innovative research and comprehensive assessments.
Please note this job requisition is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Team members are generally responsible for:
• Conducting extremely thorough, detailed online footprint assessments covering open sources like public records, mainstream and fringe social media platforms, and Deep and Dark Web sources.
• Leveraging cutting edge OSINT tools, monitoring platforms, and data visualization tools/libraries to meet clients' needs.
• Assisting with online threat monitoring projects, when needed, to identify threats or other relevant chatter directed at client interests.
• Performing person of interest investigations related to insider threat, workplace violence, and cybersecurity risk mitigation.
• Working under tight deadlines and occasionally outside of normal business hours.
• Managing multiple projects at once with limited supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 1-3 years of investigations, law enforcement or public safety, investigative journalism, intelligence, or related experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Prior experience conducting open-source investigations including familiarity with disparate sources such as mainstream and fringe social media platforms, domain registration records, Deep and Dark web sources, and traditional public records - i.e., regulatory filings, licensing databases, and corporate records, and media sources.
• Prior experience with link analysis platforms, such as Maltego, i2 Analyst's Notebook, Palantir, or related applications.
• Prior experience preparing long form reports - i.e., 20+ pages.
• Investigative skills coupled with instinctual investigative curiosity - an ability to seek a deeper understanding from preliminary findings.
• Effective time management, strong writing and communications skills, and working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities and deliverables.
• Ability to work both independently as a "self-starter" and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to synthesize and distill disparate findings to identify central themes among large datasets of online "chatter."
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• Proficiency in a foreign language, especially in Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, or Spanish.
• Experience with Python programming related to OSINT tool development.
• Experience investigating threat actors and groups operating online, sometimes within illicit communities, documenting TTPs, attribution, and other intelligence requirements.
• Experience briefing decision makers orally and in writing on complex and disparate findings, with a demonstrated ability to deliver key messages with clarity, confidence, and poise.
• Knowledge of global events (e.g., political, economic, and cultural drivers of global conflicts) and how social media impacts contentious global issues.
• Open Source Intelligence certifications such as OSIP, C|OSINT, GOSI, or OSC.
PHYSICAL & SAFETY EXPECTATIONS
When physical requirements are not essential job functions, reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times.
• Ability to see, hear and speak continuously at a level to meet all essential functions of the job.
• Physical work is of light demand.
• Work is of high attention and mental demands including the ability to prioritize and process with accuracy.
Benefits
