Description of Job Duties
Students will be responsible for staffing the Circulation Desk and/or the Information Desk, and assisting Oesterle Library staff in various units.
  • Exhibit welcoming demeanor at all times and assist patrons with courtesy.
  • Observe and enforce all rules and regulations of the library.
  • Verify patron status and charge/discharge materials.
  • Answer questions related to the library (collections, services, etc.), and other learning commons offices, as appropriate.
  • Efficiently transition the patron to reference services staff or learning commons staff for additional assistance.
  • Maintain work schedule and follow appropriate procedures when unable to work a shift.
  • Shelve books and maintain the library stacks
  • Retrieve materials from the stacks and photocopy articles for interlibrary loan
  • Filing, fill paper and toner, and complete projects and other jobs relating to this unit.
  • May also assist with other projects as assigned.
