Position Summary
The Library is recruiting for one part time Student Worker for the Fall 2026 semester. This position works to logistically support the Library Assistant II in the delivery of student-centered support services. This position assists in responding to student inquiries while assisting in fostering an environment of exceptional customer service. This position assists in the supports of department activities and routine upkeep of the library.
Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Assist with performing basic library duties such as answering phones, sanitizing the computer lab, shelving materials, and checking in/out items.
  2. Perform shelf-reading.
  3. Assist students with general questions related to the location of resources and materials in the library.
  4. Assist with library programming activities and routine display changes.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Library Staff.

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in the fall and spring, and 3 credit hours in the summer. To continue employment during the summer session, you must be enrolled in the interim or summer 1 session
  • Must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), including developmental courses
  • English proficiency
  • Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
  • Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. They will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while loading library programming supplies, office supplies, books and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
