Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and their families, fostering resilience and promoting positive behavioral change. Your expertise will help individuals navigate complex emotional and developmental challenges, empowering them to thrive in their communities and beyond.
This is a hybrid position that includes both remote and/or in-person services. The therapist will be responsible for developing and maintaining a caseload and identifying clients to conduct virtual, in-person sessions at the office or designated after-school program locations. Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine individual treatment needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Deliver evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, art therapy, and motivational interviewing to address mental health issues including PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and gender issues counseling.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on social skills, conflict management, crisis intervention, and behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with adults, families, schools, and community agencies to coordinate case management efforts and ensure continuity of care.
- Collect and maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize data collection methods to monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed for optimal outcomes.
- Provide crisis intervention support during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stability for clients experiencing mental health crises.
- Incorporate specialized techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) for clients with autism or developmental disabilities while respecting individual needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with disabilities to enhance service quality.
Experience
- Must be a licensed therapist in Maryland or a licensed therapist who is willing to obtain their Maryland license (LPC, LCPC, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW-C, LMFT, or LGPC)
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health or community care setting.
- Strong background in behavioral health therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapeutic techniques, and crisis management.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, patient assessment procedures, and documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance.
- Experience conducting intake evaluations and diagnostic assessments for diverse populations with complex needs.
- Knowledge of addiction counseling principles and techniques for supporting recovery within youth populations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder using applied behavior analysis (ABA) strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging children, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams in collaborative care planning.
