CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:
  • General operation of Multivac at end of Microwave line.

  • Ensures proper scaling and quality of finished packages.

  • Loads films, both forming and nonforming.

  • Programs Multivac and changes programs as needed.

  • Records production to get film yields and keeps film inventory.

  • Sets up and operates machine, making minor repairs and adjustments as needed.

  • Monitors finished packages for leaks, gas mix, etc. and keeps seal area clear of product.

  • Maintains quality and weights as required.

  • Adjusts depth of tools for different size packages.

  • Changes from gas flush to vacuum pack as needed.

  • Covers water sensitive areas of the machine before clean up.

  • Fills out production and down time reports.

  • Changes gas cylinders as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
  • Pen, safety knife, toolbox, clipboard and suction cup.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The majority of the time is spent in the plant environment and will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

  • Noise level is loud in the production area and hearing protection is always required.

  • Must be able to lift up to 80lbs.

  • Vision requirement of at least 20/40 for near and far vision.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT/TRAINING REQUIREMENT:
  • Bump cap, hair/beardnet, eye protection/goggles, hand protection, hearing protection and safety shoes

MANDATORY TRAINING/COMPETENCY TO BE EARNED:
  • Proper lifting, Lock/Tag/Try Authorized and PPE
