Overview

The Industrial Radiographer/Film Interpreter is responsible for performing interpretation of radiographs to evaluate weld quality, including evaluation of both pipe and structural welds in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review film in accordance with specification applicable for part and class
  • Review radiographic technique forms for completeness and accuracy
  • Documentation and maintenance of records
  • Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards; develop solutions to complex problems; ensure solutions are consistent with organizational objectives
  • Exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion in determining long‑term goals, objectives and approaches to assignments
  • Serve as a consultant to management and external contacts; represent the organization on major matters pertaining to policies, plans and objectives; and be responsible for teaching/mentoring new analysts

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI location. This is a second shift position – training will be done on first shift.

Please note – candidate must be able to work other shifts based on business needs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • A minimum of 2+ years of radiography experience – including minimum 1 year as certified Level I radiographer.
  • Must be able to obtain EB Level II RT certification within one (1) year
  • Must be able to work overtime when required (including weekends and holidays)
  • Must be able to work other shifts as business needs.
  • Proof of any relevant OJT and/or certifications must be provided by the applicant in order to be considered.

Preferred:

  • Current level II certification IAW Tech Pub –271 / NAVSEA 250-1500-1
  • Previous radiography film interpretation experience
  • Experience shooting and viewing castings
  • Previous radiography shooting qualifications/experience
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
