Position Summary:

Alamon, Inc. seeks a Tower Technician Level 2 for its Wireless Service department.
This position entails: installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless equipment. This role requires a solid understanding of wireless technologies, possesses advanced troubleshooting skills, and has a minimum of 1 year experience as a Wireless Tower Technician in a tower related position. Individuals must have experience with Verizon, AT&T, Tower and Small Cell. Must be NWSA (National Wireless Safety Alliance) Certified.

Job Description:
  • Lead and participate in the installation, integration, and testing of wireless equipment.
  • Work with DC power, Coax, Fiber Optic cabling, radios, antennas, and power systems.
  • Ensure all safety and quality control requirements for crew and site are met.
  • Safely ascend and descend towers and structures using safety harnesses, lanyards, and other fall protection.
  • Oversee the proper grounding, weatherproofing, and alignment of equipment installations.
  • Assist in upgrading and replacing outdated equipment to improve network performance.
  • Perform advanced signal strength testing, line sweeps, and power measurements to optimize performance.
  • Implement and follow through with job instructions provided by leadership.
  • Keep vehicles and equipment maintained and in operational condition at all times.
  • Keep a detailed log documenting all activities including equipment installations, testing and results, and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain compliance and adhere to all industry regulations, safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
  • Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 50lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
  • Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.

Work Environment:
  • This position will work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions, and on varying terrain. May work for long periods in hot, cold, wet, windy, or icy conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, wet or slick surfaces, and loud noises is possible.
  • Must be comfortable working with heights.
  • Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.

Physical Demands:
  • This is a physically arduous position that requires working outside in varying weather types and exposure to the elements.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75lbs.
  • Be comfortable at heights of 1000ft or more.
  • Must be willing to work either day or night shifts when necessary.

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel will be required based on the needs of the project.
  • Transportation and lodging are provided while traveling and working out of town for the Company.
  • Work in some locations with amazing views

Education and Experience:
  • Trade school or equivalent experience.
  • Highschool Diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year of tower-related experience or experience as a Wireless Technician.
  • Experience working with T-Mobile and/or Verizon Networks and/or AT&T Networks.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Familiar with tools such as Putty, Secure CRT, WinSCP and CMD.
  • Must be comfortable working with DC power systems, batteries, and DC electrical wiring.
  • Perform call testing and capture customer test requirements.
  • Familiarization with PPC, CommScope, RFS coax connectors.
  • Attainment of mobile elevated work platform certification.
  • Tower Climbing and Rigging Certification.
  • NWSA TTT 1 or 2 Certification.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office skills.
