Job Summary

We are looking for experienced Riggers/Heavy Machinery Movers. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment dedicated to the safe set up, loading, and relocation of heavy equipment. Looking at candidates that have a general understanding of heavy equipment rigging, rigging equipment; chains, binders, ratchet straps in addition to operation of forklifts, overhead lifts, jacks, rollers, hoists and other equipment to move machinery.


Essential Duties to include:

  • Must have high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Solid work ethic and enjoy working on a team
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with promotional opportunities available to employees who obtain a class A CDL
  • Inspect and prepare loads to be moved
  • Determine proper method of lifting equipment for each assigned project
  • Select the appropriate rigging equipment and inspect before each use
  • Prepare rigging equipment including, but not limited to, beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts
  • Load and unload semi-trucks including strapping and securing in a safe manner
  • Use proper methods when working with overhead lifts, hoists, winches, cranes, jacks, rollers, forklifts and other needed equipment
  • Determine weights and identify center of gravity items to be lifted
  • Uncrate materials using power tools
  • Wrap, band, and pack equipment
  • Effectively communicating with rigging, construction, engineering, customers, and other on-site teams
  • Break down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections
  • Ongoing Inspection of equipment and making necessary repairs, or taking equipment out of service as needed
  • Ensure compliance with state and company safety procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred but not required: Two (2) years Driver/Rigger/Machinery Mover experience
  • Previous forklift experience and/or ability to become forklift certified
  • Ability to navigate computer programs for training, payroll, and other operational functions
  • Familiarity with logistics or machinery moving industry
  • Knowledge and ability to operate hand tools, power tools, moving equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift/maneuver heavy equipment
  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting
  • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments
