Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, senior-level Programmer/Analyst to develop, maintain, analyze, and support data solutions for client programs and internal business operations. This position works closely with Client Services, Payment Services, Sales, Management, and other teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of client data, reporting, and scheduled deliverables.
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL Server and data-analysis skills, be comfortable troubleshooting complex data and processing issues, and be able to independently take ownership of technical problems through resolution. This position will also serve as an experienced technical resource for other members of the Data Development team.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects.
  • Analyze, validate, reconcile, and troubleshoot data from multiple sources and file formats.
  • Monitor and support scheduled data loads, reports, statements, files, and other client deliverables.
  • Investigate and resolve data-processing failures, discrepancies, and production issues.
  • Design and maintain relational database structures and data-processing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain applications, utilities, forms, and automated processes using technologies such as C#, VBA, Microsoft Access, and SQL Server.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Independently manage assigned work and proactively communicate status, risks, dependencies, and potential delays.
  • Serve as a technical resource to the Data Development team by assisting with troubleshooting, mentoring, code reviews, documentation, and development best practices.
  • Work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Advanced SQL and Microsoft SQL Server skills.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures.
  • Experience writing and troubleshooting complex queries and stored procedures.
  • Strong data-analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience importing, exporting, transforming, validating, and reconciling data.
  • Programming or scripting experience with C#, VBA, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access experience is required.
  • Ability to independently investigate problems and drive solutions through completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with ETL/data processing, SFTP, source control, query optimization, or mentoring other developers is a plus.
Senior-Level Expectations
This position requires an experienced technical professional who can operate with a high degree of independence. The successful candidate should be able to take a business or technical problem, analyze the requirements and underlying data, determine an appropriate solution, and drive that solution through implementation and validation.
The Programmer/Analyst is expected to demonstrate strong ownership, initiative, attention to detail, and quality while also serving as a resource to other members of the team.
