    Position Overview
    The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the warehouse and surrounding areas. This role includes performing scheduled sanitation duties, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. The Sanitation Associate plays a vital role in supporting workplace safety and operational efficiency in a high-volume logistics center.
     
    Pay Rate: $‎16.50 per hour
    Schedule: 1st Shift Mon-Fri. 6:30am-3:00pm

    Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
    Sanitation & Janitorial Services
    • Follow established sanitation and cleaning schedules for the logistics center.
    • Sweep, mop, dust, and clean designated warehouse and office areas.
    • Remove trash, recyclables, and debris in compliance with facility standards.
    • Maintain restrooms, breakrooms, and other employee common areas.
    Equipment & Supply Management
    • Safely operate sanitation and maintenance equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, trash compactors, EPJ).
    • Monitor and replenish sanitation supplies and materials as needed.
    • Inspect cleaning tools and equipment for safe operation and report issues promptly.
    Safety & Compliance
    • Comply with company safety and sanitation standards, including OSHA and customer requirements.
    • Properly handle cleaning chemicals and follow Hazard Communication (HazCom) standards.
    • Support audits and inspections by ensuring sanitation areas meet compliance expectations.
    General Maintenance Support
    • Assist with light facility maintenance tasks as directed.
    • Report damages, spills, or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
    • Support warehouse operations through additional cleaning or maintenance duties during peak periods.
    Perform other related job duties as assigned or required.

    Required Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED Equivalent – or equivalent relevant experience.
    • Basic math and reading skills.
    • Comfort working at elevations up to 25 feet, when required.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
    • Experience using basic tools and equipment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior experience in sanitation, janitorial, or warehouse environments.
    • Familiarity with warehouse operations in a 3PL or distribution environment.

    Physical Requirements 
    This position requires the physical ability to:
    • Stand and/or walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours, depending on shift)
    • Sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
    • Climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds at various heights including ground-level and racking zones frequently
    • Reach with hands and arms overhead and below waist level
    • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
    • Occasionally lift heavier items with or without assistance
    • Use fine motor skills/manual dexterity to operate equipment, tools, or keyboards
    • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, or control objects
    • See clearly at close range and at distance, with peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
    • Hear and understand verbal instructions, alarms, and equipment signals in a noisy environment

    Work Environment 
    This position operates in a warehouse and distribution center environment.  The employee is frequently exposed to: 
    • Varying temperatures, including but not limited to refrigerated or non-climate-controlled areas
    • Loud noise levels, such as machinery, forklifts, and conveyor systems
    • Dust, odors, and airborne particles
    • Concrete flooring and moving mechanical equipment
    • Frequent exposure to powered industrial vehicles and warehouse traffic

    The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests.

    Location/Remote Eligibility
    This role may be performed on-site only.  

    Schedule
    Work hours may vary by shift assignment and may include weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.
