Position Summary:

Hillwood is seeking a highly professional, service-oriented Security Officer to join its residential security team. This individual will be responsible for helping maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at a private residence. The Security Officer will support the safety and privacy of residents, guests, staff, and visitors through proactive security measures, continuous situational awareness, and a commitment to exceptional professionalism and discretion.

The ideal candidate possesses strong judgment, a calm demeanor, and the ability to operate effectively in a private residential setting where confidentiality, reliability, and attention to detail are critical. This position requires flexibility, accountability, and the ability to respond appropriately to a wide range of routine and unforeseen situations.

Responsibilities:

Residential Security and Property Protection:

  • Maintain the safety and security of a private residence and surrounding property through routine patrols, inspections, and observation.
  • Monitor residential security systems, cameras, alarms, gates, and access control systems.
  • Identify and report security concerns, safety hazards, maintenance issues, or unusual activity.
  • Ensure gates, entry points, and designated areas remain secure while maintaining a welcoming environment for authorized visitors.

Visitor Management and Family Support:

  • Screen and manage visitors, vendors, contractors, and service providers entering the property.
  • Provide courteous assistance to residents and guests while maintaining established security protocols.
  • Support resident movements and activities as directed, including occasional transportation or logistical assistance.
  • Assist with special events hosted at the residence, ensuring appropriate security coverage and coordination.

Emergency Response and Incident Management:

  • Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, medical incidents, security concerns, and other emergencies.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, medical, and other emergency responders when necessary.
  • Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities and maintain readiness to respond to unexpected situations.

Professionalism and Team Collaboration:

  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow security personnel, household staff, and management.
  • Remain knowledgeable of post orders, operating procedures, and security protocols.
  • Support team objectives and contribute to a positive, service-oriented security culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience working in a residential, executive protection, hospitality, or high-net-worth client environment preferred.
  • Background in patrol operations, access control, emergency response, or protective services highly desirable.
  • Current Texas Department of Public Safety Level IV Personal Protection Officer license preferred or ability to obtain.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, or other emergency response certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Each officer will present themselves in a welcoming manner and conservative appearance.
  • Ability to maintain firearm proficiency, emergency medical and other security related training.
  • Maintain Texas Class C driver’s license and operate a motor vehicle and other equipment as needed.
  • Must maintain a Texas Department of Public Safety Level 4 security officer certification.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable appearance without facial hair.
