Level 3 Associate information

What are some common challenges faced by Level 3 Associates, and how can they effectively manage their workload?

Level 3 Associates often handle more complex tasks and may be responsible for overseeing junior team members or coordinating projects. One common challenge is balancing increased responsibilities with tight deadlines, especially when managing multiple assignments simultaneously. Effective time management, clear communication with supervisors, and proactive problem-solving are essential skills for success at this level. Regularly prioritizing tasks and seeking support from colleagues can help Level 3 Associates maintain productivity and meet expectations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Level 3 Associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Level 3 Associate, you typically need a solid background in your field, relevant educational qualifications, and proven experience in mid-level tasks or responsibilities. Familiarity with industry-standard software, project management tools, or specialized equipment is often required, along with any role-specific certifications. Strong organizational skills, teamwork, and effective communication set top performers apart in this position. These skills ensure that Level 3 Associates can manage complex workloads, support team objectives, and contribute to organizational success.

What does associate III mean?

In a job context, Associate III typically indicates a third-level or senior position within an associate role, reflecting increased experience, skills, or responsibilities compared to lower levels. It often involves more complex tasks and may require a certain number of years of experience or specific certifications. This level is part of a structured career progression in many organizations.

What is a Level 3 Associate?

A Level 3 Associate is a mid-level professional position within a company, typically indicating that the employee has progressed beyond entry-level roles and has gained significant experience and expertise in their field. This position usually involves more complex responsibilities, some supervisory tasks, and may serve as a bridge between junior staff and management. Level 3 Associates are expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, work independently, and contribute to team goals while supporting less experienced colleagues.

What are the 7 levels of the job title hierarchy?

In a typical job title hierarchy, levels often include entry-level, junior, associate, mid-level, senior, lead or supervisor, and manager or director. For a Level 3 Associate role, it generally falls within the mid-level or experienced associate tier, often requiring some prior experience and specific skills. The exact hierarchy can vary by organization and industry, but these levels help define career progression and responsibilities.

What jobs can you get with level 3?

A Level 3 Associate qualification can qualify you for roles such as customer service representative, administrative assistant, or technical support specialist. These positions often require skills in communication, problem-solving, and familiarity with relevant tools or software. Advancement may require additional experience or certifications.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

By 2030, roles that rely heavily on routine manual tasks, such as assembly line workers and data entry clerks, are expected to decline due to automation and AI advancements. Jobs requiring repetitive tasks are increasingly replaced by machines, while roles emphasizing complex problem-solving and emotional intelligence are more likely to persist for professionals like Level 3 Associates who develop specialized skills and adapt to new technologies.

Our team tackles tough challenges—whether it’s improving organizational systems, streamlining logistics, or making sense of complex data—all with one goal: helping our clients succeed so they can continue serving others.
We’ve built a culture rooted in our Core Values, where innovation thrives, work-life balance is respected, and career growth is always encouraged. We're also proud to be recognized as a ‘Top Workplace,’ and that’s not just us talking; it’s our employees. Now, we’re looking for another Uncommon Genius to join our dynamic team. If you love solving puzzles, building new things, fixing what’s broken, or pushing the boundaries of creativity, we encourage you to explore the details of this position below!
UNCOMN is seeking a Data Engineer 2-3 (Associate/Mid-Level) to:
  • Design, build, and evolve scalable data pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows to efficiently ingest, transform, and deliver high-quality data across platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through strong governance practices and validation frameworks.
  • Architect and maintain robust data models, warehouses, and lakehouse environments to support growing data needs.
  • Continuously optimize database and query performance to enable fast, reliable access to critical datasets.
  • Implement partitioning, indexing, and other performance strategies to scale data systems effectively.
  • Leverage cloud platforms and modern data technologies to build resilient, high-performing data infrastructure.
  • Partner closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to translate business needs into reliable data solutions.
  • Champion data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across the data ecosystem.
  • Establish and maintain data governance standards to ensure data quality, accessibility, and responsible use.
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and strengthen the reliability of production data pipelines.
  • Drive automation and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Stay current with emerging data engineering tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
This position description outlines the core duties for this role, but it is not all-inclusive. Responsibilities may shift based on contract requirements, mission needs, or organizational objectives.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience, including designing, developing, and automating ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
  • Prior experience with BI tools, cloud platforms, and big data technologies, with proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures, with knowledge of data optimization, governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Must be comfortable working onsite full-time and traveling (up to 15% of the time), primarily to Scott AFB in O'Fallon, IL, and/or Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience with the USTRANSCOM systems, Qlik, Advana tool suite, Maven Smart System, and/or Databricks.
Why UNCOMN?
  • Instant Flexible PTO: Enjoy flexible paid time off starting your very first day with us!
  • Generous Holidays: Benefit from 7 paid holidays and up to 3 floating holidays annually.
  • Immediate Health Coverage: Get access to comprehensive health benefits from day one.
  • 401K Safe Harbor Match: Secure your future with our top-tier 401K matching program.
  • Performance Bonus: Stand out and you could earn an annual performance bonus.
  • Growth Opportunities: Advance your career with our training and education assistance programs.
  • Free Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Access complimentary support services for you and your family.
Note: Benefits apply to full-time employees only.

Don’t meet every single requirement? We’re dedicated to building an uncommon, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
