Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Overall Purpose: To enhance product quality, reduce risks, and gain production efficiencies in accordance to industry and customer specifications while achieving delivery and productivity performance expectations.
Essential Functions:
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Act as a role model, coach, and trainer for new associates to foster a team environment.
  • Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work.
  • Monitors and evaluates production and supplier parts, sub-assemblies, and assembled bearings to determine acceptance status.
  • Knowledgeable on different gauging methods as well as the ability to set-up gauge equipment and interpret readings.
  • Monitor calibration and recall of calibrated measuring and test equipment in coordination with gauge / calibration lab.
  • Ability to use instruments such as micrometers, indicator gauges, hardness testers and calipers.
  • Ability to use computerized testing equipment.
  • Collaborates with area and quality supervisors or managers to correct suspect or non-conforming parts.
  • Assist as requested with 100% inspection of suspect product.
  • Assist as required with investigations into root cause and corrective actions related to customer complaints.
  • Able to identify, document, report and verify appropriate correction or other disposition of non-conformance items.
  • Assist as requested with any customer or other outside visitor tours or informational visits to the facility.
  • Generate and maintain appropriate quality records and reports.
  • Interact with internal and external quality auditors as requested to ensure smooth flow of any audit process.
  • Monitor and assist in the maintenance of quality system documentation.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended period.
  • Ability to perform repetitive or short-cycle work
  • Frequent lifting, reaching, and handling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Moderate twisting and bending.
  • Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement.
  • Vision must be normal (20/20). Correctional lenses are acceptable.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in math and reading, good written and verbal communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must be able to deal with a variety of concrete variables such as interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
  • Candidates shall successfully complete training program and applicable qualification requirements.

Environmental Conditions:
  • Loud manufacturing environment, exposure to metals, machine lubricants, rust preventative and other process chemicals, seasonal cold/heat.

Protective Clothing and Personal Devices:
  • Safety glasses, safety gloves, safety shoes, hearing protection
