Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Central Office Installer in Haslet, TX. We are seeking a skilled Central Office Installer to work in a lab and staging environment, focusing on building and preparing equipment cabinets for shipment to various sites. The ideal candidate has significant experience in Central Office or Data Center environments, with specific expertise in secondary DC power installation, high-density rack cable dressing, and fiber optic termination.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $28 to $32 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Build, rack, and secure equipment cabinets within a staging and lab environment.
  • Install and label network and telecommunications equipment according to project specifications.
  • Perform intricate cable dressing and sewing within High Density Racks to ensure organized cable management.
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling to ensure connectivity and performance standards are met.
  • Install and configure secondary DC power systems within equipment cabinets.
  • Prepare completed cabinets and equipment for shipment to various field locations.
  • Collaborate with a team in a production-oriented environment to meet staging deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and labeling for all equipment and cabling infrastructure.
  • Ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards before shipment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Central Office (CO) or Data Center installation environments.
  • Strong technical background in secondary DC power installation and termination.
  • Demonstrated skill in sewing and cable dressing within High Density Racks.
  • Proficiency in installing, terminating, and testing fiber optic connections.
  • Experience with equipment labeling and industry-standard documentation practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production or staging setting.
  • Familiarity with building and securing equipment cabinets for transport.
  • Knowledge of network equipment rack-and-stack procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for prolonged periods in a lab environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand tools and perform precise cable terminations.
  • Ability to reach and work overhead for equipment and cable installation.
  • Visual acuity to distinguish color codes and read small print on equipment labels.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse or staging environment.
