Job description

Job Summary

Coordinates and performs finishing, including painting, staining, sheetrock, plaster, and metal work. Installs/repairs flooring/wall coverings. Works independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference

  • Repairs damaged walls and uses the appropriate paints to match areas and meet quality standards

  • Inspects work of outside contractors for quality of work, both ongoing and completed, and reports status to assigned supervisor.

  • Attends construction meetings on major jobs or renovations as needed.

  • Inspects on-going construction/renovations reports findings to Facilities/Planning and supervisor.

  • Orders material for finishing and cabinetry.

  • Restores furniture and fabricates with glass and plastic.

  • Schedules and assigns work to be done in conjunction with assigned supervisor.

  • Estimates and orders all materials needed to complete jobs.

  • May perform any or all of the following: cut stencils and stencil surfaces with lettering or decorations; paint signs on such surfaces as cloth, bulletin boards, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred

  • Experience - Two (2) years minimum experience with interior and wall finishing materials. Wall covering, flooring material, drywall installation, and painting experience preferred. Hospital experience preferred.
