Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Lead / Specialist

Experienced Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technicians Wanted

Nelbud is looking for experienced Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technicians to join our team at the Specialist or Lead level. Placement will be based on previous kitchen exhaust cleaning experience, qualifications, and certifications.

This is a hands-on field position for technicians who already know the industry, can confidently perform kitchen exhaust cleaning work, and are ready to take greater ownership on job sites.

This is not an entry-level position. Previous professional kitchen exhaust cleaning experience is required.

Competitive compensation with commission opportunities available based on experience and position level.

What You'll Do
  • Perform commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning, including hoods, ducts, fans, and related components
  • Remove grease buildup using professional cleaning and power-washing equipment
  • Evaluate job-site conditions and determine the safest and most effective approach
  • Ensure work is completed according to company standards, customer expectations, and applicable safety requirements
  • Install and seal access panels as needed
  • Complete required job documentation, including reports, photos, and service records
  • Identify and report safety hazards, equipment concerns, and additional service needs
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members on site
  • Support and coach less-experienced technicians as appropriate
  • Lead-level technicians may take additional ownership of crews and job-site execution
What We're Looking For
  • Previous professional kitchen exhaust cleaning experience required
  • Specialist: Previous KEC experience required; certification is not required
  • Lead: Previous KEC experience and applicable certification required
  • Ability to confidently perform hood, duct, and fan cleaning
  • Strong understanding of job-site safety and proper cleaning procedures
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
  • Leadership, crew lead, or technician training experience is a plus
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Schedule & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnights, early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Comfortable working on rooftops and in confined spaces
  • Comfortable working at heights and using ladders
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. with assistance when appropriate
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
