40 YEARS OF CREATING STUNNING COLOR AND DESIGN
Summary: Len-Tex Wallcoverings is seeking a skilled Gravure Operator to join our Print Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for press operation and directing Press Tenders in the production of high-quality wallcovering.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirm that all correct film color, gauge, and quantity will be run in conformance with the production order.
  • Run order sequence in accordance with printing.
  • Confirm print quality at the beginning of each press run with color masters and stop the run when necessary to correct process problems.
  • Confirm quality at the end of the run layout before wash-up.
  • Accurately fill out roll tickets and daily production reports.
  • Review Tenders' work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide roll rejection reports to print department supervisors for all full and partial rolls of rejected film.
  • Maintain cleanliness of print machines and direct Tenders to sweep the print department at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure all work is done in accordance with manufacturing procedures and specifications.
  • Train new Tenders continuously in proper manufacturing procedures.
  • Work safely and advise Tenders of safe work practices.
  • Monitor Tenders to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Report all maintenance or process problems in writing, using the appropriate form.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to grip, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as a wrench, wiper, and utility knife.
  • Ability to work standing on feet for two to three hours between breaks.
  • Ability to visually discern print problems on a moving web.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:
  • Two plus years of previous experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment where attention to detail, quality, and teamwork was of importance.
  • Machine tending and paper converting experience is a plus.
