Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Specialist to join the Data, Power and Control Team in Reno, NV.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Health & Safety Specialist to support and enhance our workplace safety and environmental compliance programs. The Health & Safety Specialist will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

The Health and Safety specialist, as with all members of the Legrand Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.

Main Job Duties:

· Under the leadership of the H&S manager, the H&S Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the Reno facility follows all state, federal, and OSHA regulations regarding health and safety.

· This role will collaborate with global stakeholders to promote regulatory compliance, share best practices, and support consistent EHS reporting and performance metrics across locations.

· Compliance & Auditing: Conduct daily or weekly walkthroughs to identify and correct potential hazards, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local fire codes. Occasionally, the role may support international sites in aligning local safety programs with corporate EHS standards.

· Incident Investigation: Lead investigation of safety-related incidents, near-misses, and injuries to identify root causes. Track and report incident trends and recommend preventative measures.

· Training & Education: Facilitate safety orientations for new hires, conduct mandatory safety training for all employees and promote employee involvement in safety initiatives.

· Documentation & Reporting: Manage OSHA logs, maintain SDS (Safety Data Sheets), track safety KPIs, and maintain an existing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) program

· Safety Committee Leadership: Actively lead or participate in the plant safety committee to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

· Contractor Safety: Ensure on-site contractors comply with company safety standards.

· Emergency Response: Maintain emergency evacuation plans and coordinate safety drills.

· Demonstrate high standards of conduct and integrity

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Work environment is fast-paced and priorities can shift quickly. All employees are expected to go outside their primary responsibilities when required, and multi-task job duties on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs/ladder; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk, and hear. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Education & Experience:

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

· Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in EHS, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

· Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30, NFPA 70e, Red Cross First Aid/AED/CPR, knowledge or experience with of ISO 45001

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

· Ability to work in cross-functional teams with diverse backgrounds and skill sets.

· Ability to host and present safety topics to large groups.

· Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

· Knowledge of ISO-14001:2015 and ISO-45001:2018 Management Systems.

· Strong documentation skills with revision control.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Ability to train and certify forklift operators in accordance with OSHA requirements.

· Ability to collaborate across time zones.

Personal Qualities/Behaviors:

· This position will have exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required

· Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

· Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.

· Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
