We are seeking a candidate that clearly demonstrates strong leadership and project execution skills to ensure project success in budget, scope, schedule and customer satisfaction. They have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity. They will have the ability to operate in a team environment that is diverse and possibly remote as well as collaborate across multiple business areas to accomplish Sherpa's goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage full life cycle of assigned projects
  • Provide a single point of contact for assigned projects
  • Interface with all stakeholders including Contracting, Financial, Legal, Security, Senior Staff, Executive Staff, Customers, End Users, Engineering, IT and Team Members
  • Participate in Business Development activities including networking, program capture and proposal development
  • Develop project artifacts including detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates (EACs), resource plans, and status reports based on contractual requirements
  • Conduct project meetings virtually and/or in-person
  • Perform project tracking and analysis
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Manage and review project deliverables
  • Ensure all project contractual obligations are being satisfied
  • Provides analytical guidance to project team
  • Recommend and/or direct the analysis and solutions of problems
  • Perform staffing and workload forecasting
  • Work with Project Controllers to satisfy project financial requirements

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Program Management or other related field
  • Five (5) years of experience managing/supervising technical teams/projects related to the role
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP Certification
  • Ability to build trust and confidence with customers, engineers, technicians, program management, and product line management to achieve program and business objectives
  • Demonstrate leadership by example, building trust and inspiring people through a shared vision where people feel valued, empowered, and fulfilled
  • Ability to independently lead and support technical meetings with customers, teammates, program management and leadership
  • Experience in systems engineering and/or software engineering
  • Experience executing projects with Agile methodology
  • Experience with DoW related contracts
  • Experience with proposal effort coordination, including estimating, bidding, narrative writing, risk identification, and technical leadership
  • Ability to grasp complex issues, independently formulate analysis and proposed solutions, lead people, manage complex activities, manage risks and opportunities, brief issues and represent the company well to the customer

  • Successful completion of a background screening/check/investigation will/may be required as a condition of hire.

The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
