Primary Job Duties

The primary focus of this position is to execute facilities management activities for SkyWest and its partners, as appropriate.  The CRE & Facilities Manager owns en- to-end project management of new builds, moves, remodels, and facility improvements within SkyWest. This position is responsible for budget administration, financial management and vendor contract management.  Additionally, the CRE & Facilities Manager is responsible for organizing, motivating and leading a team of Facilities personnel.

  • Support the Department VP in the implementation of short and long-term projects
  • Collaborate with the VP, mainline partners, and local leadership to identify suitable facilities and leases
  • Manage the project budget, timeline, space planning, and design.  Ensure brand is adhered to
  • Direct the needs of the facility and outfit new locations with furniture, supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams such as Department Heads, IT, Legal, Finance, Senior Administration, and Market Development
  • Develop and implement innovative programs, processes, and procedures that reduce short and long-term operating costs and increase productivity by working closely with local facility management and the clients
  • Manage local sites as well as remote sites (travel required)
  • Manage vendor relationships, confirm vendor insurance compliance, and perform quality assurance of vendor performance
  • Execute and document facility repairs, improvements, and related activities in support of SkyWest.  Work with Airport Authorities and Facilities teams, outside general contractors, regulatory agencies and other internal support functions to perform cost effective, compliant and high-quality repairs and improvements
  • Prioritize and execute facilities work order requests in a timely manner
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs.  Establish routine facility inspection practices necessary to ensure basic safety requirements
  • Responsible for proactive inspections, identifying areas of improvement, developing corrective action plans and seeing through to completion
  • Effectively lead teams by establishing team and individual goals that align with departmental goals
  • Model integrity, demonstrate self-awareness and foster an environment of accountability
  • 2 + years of experience in aviation
  • 2 + years of planning, design, and construction experience
  • Conversant in design and construction techniques, understanding the design and construction management process and vernacular, with an understating of best practices in program and project management
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Experience managing project teams
  • Must have excellent people skills, mechanical knowledge and the ability to manage technical personnel
  • Must be available after hours as needed, and be on call for emergency response
  • Strong organizational, management, interpersonal, supervisory and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of real estate, telecommunications, furniture, accounting, and building systems
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS SharePoint, CAD, and HVAC controls
  • Working knowledge of basic trade skills (i.e., plumbing, painting, and cleaning)
  • Flexible and able to be on-call during various hours and shifts in case of an emergency
