Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support lawyers in both our Corporate Finance and Securities, and Estates and Wealth Advisory groups, in our Vancouver office. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic and hardworking team player. The regular working hours for this role are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Standard Responsibilities:

  • Handle billing, including preparation and distribution of monthly invoices
  • Format, revise, and finalize legal documents
  • Open new client files and matters
  • Prepare expense reports
  • Maintain an efficient file management and bring forward system
  • Maintain a full calendar, email management and managing lawyers' practice
  • Liaise with legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers, and clients regarding file progress
  • Provide overflow support and perform general administrative duties as required

Qualifications

  • Legal Administrative Assistant certification from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a legal administrative assistant
  • Direct experience in the Corporate Finance & Securities and/or Estates and Wealth Advisory practice areas is an asset
  • Prior knowledge of data management systems (i.e. iManage) and billing software (i.e. Aderant) is an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Has the ability to work both independently and as part of a collegial team
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, producing accurate, high-quality work while ensuring consistency across tasks and documents
  • Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to work, taking ownership of assignments and independently utilizing available resources, precedent files, and research while exercising sound judgment in determining when to seek guidance
  • Displays extraordinary customer service in a professional, mature and courteous manner
  • Highly dependable and adaptable with great work ethic
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills


Thetypical hiring range for this position is$58,000 to $65,000annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
