As a Trading Automation and Operations Intern,ย you'llย work on our trading floorย enhancing fullyย systematicย tradingย strategiesย andย solvingย operational challenges that directly support ourย coreย market-making business.ย Over ten weeks,ย you'llย build automation, investigate real production issues, andย improveย our tradingย strategies,ย systems,ย and workflows.ย You'llย take ownership ofย real businessย problems with the support of experienced teammates and mentors, while deepening your understanding of financial markets and market making.ย Like teams across Optiver,ย you'llย useย AI toย accelerate how you investigate problems, build solutions, and learn, while applying your own judgment to decide what works.ย ย ย ย 

Whatย you'llย do:ย 

  • Develop a deep understanding of financial markets, market making, and the systems that support our trading business.ย 
  • Build tools, automated workflows, and data pipelines that traders rely on daily.ย ย 
  • Improve systems and workflows by identifying opportunities to simplify manual processes and reduce operational friction.ย 
  • Use AI-native workflows to investigate problems, analyze information, and develop solutions while applying your own judgment to evaluate results.ย ย 
  • Collaborate closely with traders, researchers, and engineers to understand problems from multiple perspectives and deliver practical solutions. ย 
  • Take ownership of a project from problem definition through implementation, with guidance and feedback from an experienced mentor.ย
