Job description

Health Safety and Sustainability Engineer

As an HS&S Engineer, you will lead the implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of HSE&S programs. You’ll partner closely with leadership, employees, contractors, and 3PL providers to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable operations.

In this role you will be responsible to
  • Drive consistent application of HS&S standards across all site activities

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks proactively

  • Support incident prevention, investigation, and corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and international standards

  • Strengthen contractor and 3PL HS&S performance and accountability

  • Manage environmental compliance & waste management programs

  • Deliver accurate reporting, metrics, and risk visibility

  • Support audit readiness and ensure minimal findings

  • Contribute to workers’ compensation cost management

  • Promote a strong safety culture through engagement and awareness initiatives

What is required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or related)

  • 1–2 years of internship or early professional experience in HSE

  • Knowledge of:

    • HSE regulations and standards

    • ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 management systems

    • Hazard identification & risk management

    • Incident investigation and prevention

    • Emergency preparedness and response

    • HSE data management and reporting

    • Microsoft Office tools

  • Plus: Industrial Hygiene knowledge

  • Desirable: BATF&E requirements knowledge
