What You'll Do

As a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Secretary, you will play an important role in helping attorneys provide outstanding legal representation and exceptional client service.

Your responsibilities may include:

Client Service
  • Professionally greet clients and visitors.

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and accurately relay messages.

  • Schedule appointments and assist with client communications.

  • Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, and third parties.

  • Help ensure every client receives exceptional service throughout their case.

Case Management
  • Prepare, draft, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents.

  • Prepare documents for filing with courts and other agencies.

  • Maintain organized electronic and physical client files.

  • Calendar hearings, deadlines, meetings, and appointments.

  • Assist attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, and other litigation support.

Administrative Support
  • Perform electronic filing with courts.

  • Organize files and legal documents.

  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.

  • Scan, copy, and distribute documents.

  • Perform general administrative duties and assist with special projects as assigned.

Billing & Technology
  • Enter billable time into the firm's timekeeping software on the same day work is performed.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and the firm's case management software.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking motivated, organized professionals who are eager to build a long-term career in the legal profession.

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, or in a law firm is preferred, but not required. We are willing to hire individuals with a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and a strong desire to build a successful career in the legal profession.

  • Family law or litigation experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • The ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new technology and software.

  • A positive attitude, professionalism, dependability, and outstanding customer service skills.

  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.

Experienced family law paralegals and legal assistants may be considered for Senior Paralegal or Senior Legal Assistant positions with additional responsibilities and work-from-home eligibility.
