As a senior-level generalist, the role bridges tactical execution with thoughtful analysis and process improvement, ensuring consistent application of HR policies, timely resolution of employee needs, and alignment with company values in a multi-site manufacturing environment. The Senior HR Generalist acts as the primary point of contact for timekeeping, leave administration, workers’ compensation intake, and related compliance matters, while partnering closely on strategic priorities such as employee engagement, retention, and regulatory readiness.

Essential Job Functions:

• Process and audit employee timecards for their appointed sites, ensuring accuracy, compliance with wage and hour laws, and timely submission for payroll (without performing payroll processing).

• Support open enrollment activities by assisting employees with benefit-related questions, form completion, and system navigation (without managing or administering benefit plans).

• Partner with site leadership to execute HR processes including new-hire onboarding, offboarding, and internal transfers.

Compliance, Leave & Workers’ Compensation

• Serve as the primary intake coordinator for Workers’ Compensation claims, liaising with employees, managers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to ensure timely reporting and case management.

• Monitor and administer FMLA, LOA, and STD processes, including tracking eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work coordination while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

• Conduct regular audits and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation statutes, and applicable state regulations).

• Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Provide light recruiting support by assisting with candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and scheduling in partnership with site leadership.

• Coordinate with internal talent partners, external recruiters, and temporary staffing agencies to fulfill short-term and long-term hiring needs at appointed sites

Employee Support & Relations

• Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, conducting initial intake, investigations, and follow-up in partnership with the Regional HR Director.

• Deliver timely and professional support to employees and managers on HR-related inquiries, performance concerns, and workplace issues.

• Promote a positive work environment through proactive employee engagement and consistent policy application.

Strategic HR Support & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to light strategic initiatives including talent development, employee engagement programs, and process optimization in collaboration with the Regional HR Director.

• Analyze HR metrics and trends (timecard accuracy, leave utilization, workers’ compensation data) to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.

• Support site leadership with HR projects, change management, and cross-functional initiatives that drive operational efficiency and organizational growth.

 Training & Internal Partnership

• Assist in the development and delivery of HR-related training for employees and managers on topics such as leave policies, timekeeping, workplace conduct, and compliance.
