Legal Assistant
Employment Type: Full-Time, Entry-level
Department: Legal Services
CGS is seeking a Legal Assistant to assist with administrative and legal support for a large Federal agency located in Denver, CO.

Job Duties:
- Prepares a variety of legal documents and correspondence in final format.
- Assists attorneys in preparing for court. Scans discovery into an automated system.
- Maintains a court calendar, assembles trial and grand jury exhibits and notebooks.
- Maintains a variety of legal files. Ensures that legal documentation is maintained correctly within specific case files. Is responsible for closing files to be stored onsite and shipping closed files to be archived offsite.
- Assists attorneys and paralegal with the electronic filing of legal documents Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) with the Court (training to be provided)
- Reviews files and corrects any omissions in records. Checks all closed files to ensure the proper procedures have been followed and the closing process is complete.
- Assists the Administrative Division with special projects. This may include but is not limited to mail, move, court runs, etc.
- Serves as back-up receptionist
Requirements:
- At least one year of specialized litigation experience required, however over three years is preferred.
- Specialized experience is defined as experience reviewing legal documents such as complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas, and libels for completeness of information; retrieving and assembling information for hearing and/or trial use, researching a variety of legal sources to obtain and/or verify information; maintaining file systems; and using automated software to produce legal related reports, documents, correspondence and related materials.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Should have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
- Must be a United States Citizen and have lived in the United States for at least 3 out of the last 5 years.
