Job Overview
ABC Legal Services is hiring a Legal Courier Driver / Court Runner to handle daily, in-person delivery and collection of legal documents at courts throughout the Savannah region. Our Atlanta office ships you documents daily to deliver along a preplanned route. You'll pick up and deliver documents, scan them into our system, enter case information into our database for electronic dispatch, and prep outgoing packages for return shipment.

Please Note: This position involves extensive daily driving - often 5+ hours per day traveling between multiple court locations, and some days you may be on the road for most of the day. If you enjoy being on the road and don't mind spending a significant part of your day driving, this could be a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive daily document shipments from ABC Legal's Atlanta office
  • Follow a preplanned route to deliver and pick up legal documents at assigned locations
  • Route runs on a two-day rotation: Monday/Wednesday/Friday covers one set of courts, Tuesday/Thursday covers a different set
  • At each stop, visit both the courthouse and the sheriff's office (a stop is required daily at both locations, even on days without documents to deliver/collect)
  • Log all incoming and outgoing work on the runner tracking sheet
  • Scan documents into ABC Legal's document tracking system
  • Enter relevant case information into ABC's database
  • Prepare and pack outgoing UPS shipments to send back to the Atlanta office at the end of each day (one daily stop will be a UPS location)

Qualifications:

  • Must live in or be willing to commute to the Savannah, GA area
  • 6+ months of related experience preferred
  • Comfortable with multiple hours of daily driving, including congested traffic conditions
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and PDF formatting
  • Ability to learn new software and computer programs quickly
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
