Gurstel Law Firm P.C. – Commercial Legal Assistant 

JOB SUMMARY as a Commercial Legal Assistant you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: 

  • Complete complex legal tasks, in addition to legal support staff functions in all states in which the Firm operates.  
  • Assist in preparing files; review, draft, file, and serve legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Follow, create, and maintain standard operating procedures. 
  • Demonstrates the Firm’s core values in interactions with co-workers, attorneys, clients, the courts, and consumers. 
  • Scanning, photocopying, collating, and faxing.
  • Legal data entry.
  • Handle client inquiries.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, ability to prioritize deadlines and commitments.
  • Ability to communicate in an effective manner.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Self-Starter and motivated.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to extract information from the firm’s software to create reports or summaries for managing attorneys and or the Director of the Department 
  • 50+ WPM typing skills
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds
  • All other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Legal field certificate/2-year degree (experience may be substituted for education)
  • Background in civil litigation required, background in Creditors Rights Laws preferred

TRAVEL – This position requires up to 0-5% travel.  Travel excludes local commute.
