Overview
Our client is seeking a Legal Accountant to support accounting operations and legal billing activities while serving as an escalation point for billing-related issues. This position reports directly to the Controller and is ideal for a mid-level accounting professional with strong financial reporting experience.
Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
  • Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements
  • Monitor accounts receivable, collections, and billing issue resolution
  • Coordinate legal billing, prebills, invoicing, and billing adjustments
  • Administer trust accounting (IOLTA) and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support payroll processing and serve as a liaison with payroll providers
  • Prepare financial reports, assist with audits, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong financial reporting and general accounting background
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Legal accounting, legal billing, or professional services experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
