Job description

JOB TITLE: Inventory Control Clerk

EMPLOYER: Lee Fish USA

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

*This is an overnight position. Candidates must be willing to work overnight.

SUMMARY: Lee Fish USA is a premium seafood importer, bringing in daily seafood shipments from around the world to distribute throughout North America. Working from our headquarters in El Segundo, CA, the Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for keeping track of inventory within the warehouse; signing off on shipments to facilitate sales while counting current product inventory.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately controls and tracks physical inventory.
  • Issues purchase and work orders to generate product shipments.
  • Maintains status of orders through entire process.
  • Participates in inventory process and daily audits; researches and resolves inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintains and manages accurate records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, and/or supplies stocked.
  • Maintains shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Performs and oversees processing and routing of invoices.
  • Maintains and oversees back-order system.
  • Maintains and oversees inventory database.
  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
    1. Forklift operator certification preferred.
  • Computer skills required: Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Contract Management Systems; Inventory Software; Order Processing Systems
  • Other skills required:
    1. 2+ years’ experience in inventory control.
    2. Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
  1. Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
  2. Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  3. Proficient keyboarding skills.
  4. Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
