The Department of French seeks 1 sessional lecturer for FSL102H1F Elementary French II (0.5 FCE) from September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026.
Course description
An intensive basic course in spoken and written French for students who have minimal French experience.

Estimated course enrolment: 40
Estimated TA support: N/A
Class schedule: LEC0101 Monday 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM; Wednesday 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026


Salary: (including vacation pay)  

Sessional Lecturer I- $9,820.70 

Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term - $10,510.04 

Sessional Lecturer II - $10,510.04 

Sessional Lecturer II, Long Term - $10,760.28 

Sessional Lecturer III - $10,760.28 

Sessional Lecturer III, Long Term - $11,060.36

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in French Studies or a related field
Experience teaching language courses at the university level
Strong expertise in course design, planning, and preparation of lecture materials
Fluency in French and English

Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of Quercus, specifically its Test Manager and communication tools

Experience teaching a language course at the beginner level

Experience with course coordination

Description of Duties:
Responsible for all aspects of delivering a university credit course, including:
Teaching a French language course
Preparing all course materials, including tests and assignments
Holding office hours and maintaining regular email communication with students
Grading tests and assignments

Meeting with your supervisor as required.
