Leasing Agent

Part-time leasing agent for The Fairways Apartments

$21 per hour

Hours/Days are TBD

Fairways Apartments needs a leasing agent. This leasing agent will act as the primary link between property manager and prospective tenants. They are responsible for showing available units, following up on leads and guiding prospective tenants through the application and screening process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Management: Respond to phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries; follow up with prospects and maintain a robust lead tracking database.
  • Property Tours: Show available apartments, community amenities to prospective renters.
  • Application Screening: Assist applicants with understanding rental criteria, paperwork, collect application fees, process credit, background, and rental history checks.
  • Lease Execution: Assist the Property Manager (PM) with resident approval or denial. Upon tenant approval, assist the PM with preparing lease agreements, explain terms, and ensure all documents are signed in compliance with local landlord-tenant laws.
  • Resident Relations & Renewals: Assist current residents with maintenance requests, mediate complaints, and general office tasks.
  • Marketing & Administration: Manage online property listings, update unit availability, and collect initial rent and deposit payments.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED. Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Fluency in multiple languages is valued, and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience: REQUIRED Previous experience in leasing, sales, real estate, or customer service.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and sales skills, strong multitasking abilities, and familiarity with property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio).
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of Fair Housing regulations and local housing laws.
  • Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings, to accommodate prospective renters.
