Position Title:ย Community Services Outreach Coordinator
Split Assignment Location: Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, MN within the Alternative Learning Programย 
Hours per Day: 8.0 (7:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.)
Schedule: Monday through Friday (12 month contract working 225 days per year)
Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2026
Assignment Length: 2026 - 2027 School Year, continuing contract
Salary: Starting at $99,323 per the coordinator contract
POSITION OVERVIEW:


















The Community Services Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, integration, alignment, and coordination of the community school strategy at the site level. The Community Services Outreach Coordinator works in partnership with the school administrator, families, students, and staff to assess the school community's needs and assets, manage partnerships, and co-create a learning environment that supports a thriving school community where students flourish. The Community Services Outreach Coordinator must work to create a high-performing Community School strategy wherein community members are connected, students and families are supported, and experience belonging with successful outcomes.ย

Essential Functions

  • Build a team to implement an asset and needs assessment, in partnership with all constituent groups to identify clear priorities, which will be re-assessed each year based on youth, family, and community voices.
  • Manage the Full Service Community Grant activities, budget, and reporting.
  • Act as a point person for agencies and programs interested in partnering with the school and help develop new partnerships that are aligned with the school vision and address the priorities identified by assets and needs assessment including, but not limited to, expanded learning and enrichment opportunities, health services, parent/family engagement, programming with local universities, and mental health services.
  • Support MTSS wrap-around services in response to student and family needs (individual and school) that ensure that students are being connected to opportunities and services.
  • Support the development of youth leadership structures in support of continuous school improvement and the development of a co-created vision for the community school.
  • Lead or participate in family engagement events with the school and community partners. Coordinate educational opportunities for families related to academics, basic life skills, or other identified needs.
  • Identify and provide support for students needing equitable academic enrichment (e.g. tutoring and credit recovery).ย  Support and identify partners for coordinated activities before, during, or after school, as well as the summer months. Maintain a lens of college/career readiness for all students.
  • Conduct periodic focus groups or informal conversations and collect other data to understand school climate and community interests and opportunities.ย  Regularly communicate with district or community-based organization leadership to assess alignment.
  • Participate in the school leadership team, site meetings, MTSS and teacher learning committees to examine data and curricula to explore potential partners.ย 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or related field. ย  An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required efficacy will be considered
  • Previous experience managing or coordinating programs within an educational, non-profit, or human services setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant administration, including tracking deliverables, compliance reporting, and fiscal budget management.
  • Knowledge of K-12 school environments, including tiered systems of support (MTSS/RTI), Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and district compliance policies preferred
  • Exceptional capability in establishing and maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with students, families, advisory boards, civic leaders, corporate partners, and the general public.
  • Lived or professional experience successfully navigating complex socioeconomic and systemic structures, with a proven ability to support diverse cultural communities and specialized student populations.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to negotiate, mediate, and facilitate collaborative, mutually beneficial ("win-win") solutions among diverse stakeholders.
  • General proficiency in conceptualizing, organizing, and executing large-scale student, family, and community outreach events.
  • High level of computer literacy, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace applications, and specialized school information
