This engineer will share a passion for mentoring and team developing while leading project designs with our clients in the Retail/Commercial, K-12 Education/Public Buildings, and Healthcare industries.

Role Requirements
  • Civil Project Design Engineer with 7+ years of experiencein the field of Retail/Commercial, Educational (PK-12 and Higher Ed.), and Healthcare.
  • PE License required.
  • Experienced in Site Development design local to the Columbus area.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in design software to develop the design deliverables. Must be knowledgeable with Civil 3-D and/or AutoCAD.
  • Proficient with stormwater modeling and management.
  • Technical understanding of design standards.
  • Thrives in a work environment where one collaborates with other team members (Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers) in a multiโ€‘discipline project team environment to resolve appropriate design or drawing issues and accomplish objectives.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, professional writing skills and the ability to multi-task between several projects and priorities at one time.
  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Some travel may be required for construction administration.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License is required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration in our Site Development group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline in the development of site infrastructure projects: this includes complete A & E design, field services like environmental, geotechnical and survey.
  • Technical oversight: overseeing the design process for civil site development and stormwater management, coordinating the permitting and jurisdiction applications/submittals, and ensuring the newer engineersโ€™ work meets quality standards at GPD.
  • Mentoring and developing the Site Development team to further our success in the industry: this includes not only civil engineering and technical training but empowering those teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry and translating that to continued career success.
  • Administrative oversight: using Key Performance indicators, this includes developing, communicating, and tracking workflow tasks, scheduling, championing GPDโ€™s quality assurance and client standards, and ensuring that project documents are consistent with project plans and within scope and budget.
