Job description

Duties Description While working with the CDI Reentry Unit, the Case Management Intern will become familiar with programs, protections, and policies for justice involved individuals in New York State. The Intern will support the CDI team in helping justice impacted job seekers overcome barriers to employment and achieve their career goals. This role involves assisting with intake interviews, workshops, maintaining accurate client records, and connecting participants to training, job opportunities, and community resources.

The intern will apply their skills in research, project management, and knowledge of Microsoft office suite to update resources of Reentry Information and materials that can be accessed on-demand by Reentry Employment Specialists and Employment Counselors working at New York State Department of Labor. Minimum Qualifications Be 18 years of age or older Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State* Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent Preferred Skill sets: Case management skills, Outreach and engagement, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, Analytical and problem-solving skills, Strong attention to detail and Excellent verbal and written communication skills Degree Concentrations Requested: Counseling, Criminal Justice, Cultural Studies, Psychology/Psychiatry, Public Administration, Social Science, Social Work Additional Comments Preferred minimum education level: Junior Preferred maximum education level: Graduate Student Our mission is to provide outstanding services to our customers-the workers and business that call New York home.
