Overview
Working at Atlassian

Your future team
We're looking for a Senior Design Manager to join the the Rovo & AI Design team. This role will focus on leading the continued evolution of the product and brand experience for Rovo, our flagship AI experience.
Reporting to the Head of Design for Rovo, you'll lead a small group of Product Designers and Content Designers to collaborate with Product and Marketing on Rovo.com, the visual language of Rovo, and the in-product front door experience for Rovo across Desktop, Web and Mobile.
Responsibilities
What you'll do
  • Partner with leadership, stakeholders, cross-functional teams to create improvements to AI-driven features on Rovo's product and brand experience.
  • You'll work with fellow Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, Content Designers, Researchers, Marketers, and Analysts to develop an elegant user experience in our products and ship high-quality work.
  • Recruit, mentor, and support a growing design team, serving as a role model and motivator to foster a diverse and inclusive working environment.
  • Work with the product teams to unlock team productivity with search, chat, knowledge discovery, and AI agents for Rovo and Atlassian product suite.
  • Lead multiple AI initiatives with your team from creation to execution and be responsible for tying back to customer value delivery and outcomes.
  • Communicate design concepts and plans persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

Qualifications
Your background
  • You've led teams that work closely with product and marketing
  • At least 7 years of experience in Design Leadership roles as a direct manager.
  • Experience in planning and driving direction autonomously - both as a hands-on designer, and as a manager.
  • Strong belief in the power of AI tools to enhance and accelerate daily productivity, enabling more efficient workflows and promoting innovation.
  • Experience on design infrastructure teams and working across a suite of products.
  • Track record in working with scaled systems and different methods for designing.
  • Comfort in the level and speed of learning and ambiguity needed to navigate fast-evolving fields like AI.
  • Positive collaboration history with other departments, like Engineering, Product Management, and Research.
  • Examples of a high degree of influence with all kinds of internal partners, including senior leadership.
