What does a learning content designer do?

A Learning Content Designer creates educational materials and experiences that help learners acquire new knowledge or skills. They use instructional design principles to develop engaging content such as courses, modules, videos, and assessments. Learning Content Designers often work with subject matter experts, use digital tools, and tailor materials for specific audiences or platforms. Their goal is to make learning effective, accessible, and enjoyable.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a learning content designer?

To succeed as a Learning Content Designer, you need expertise in instructional design principles, curriculum development, and usually a background in education or a related field. We create possibilities that move life and commerce forward
Welcome to Manhattan. Every day, our supply chain commerce technology connects two billion people to 20 billion consumer choices. In the warehouse, on the road and in the store, we make what was once impossible, possible. If you want to tackle complex problems and redefine markets, you've come to the right place.
The Senior Enablement Consultant delivers exceptional learning experiences that drive customer confidence, product adoption, and business success. This role serves as a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and internal teams by combining deep product expertise, technical consulting, facilitation, and enablement best practices to accelerate learning and maximize the value of Manhattan Associates solutions.
This role independently leads complex customer engagements, serves as the enablement lead for assigned products or strategic initiatives, and partners closely with Learning Experience Designers to ensure learning experiences accurately reflect product capabilities, customer needs, and implementation best practices. The Senior Enablement Consultant contributes product expertise, customer insights, demonstrations, recorded workflows, and technical guidance that support the development of scalable learning experiences.
Success in this role requires balancing customer-facing delivery with cross-functional collaboration, continuous learning, operational excellence, and innovation while leveraging AI responsibly to improve productivity, learning effectiveness, and customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Enablement & Learning Delivery
  • Deliver engaging instructor-led, virtual, and hybrid learning experiences for customers, partners, and internal audiences.
  • Facilitate advanced product training, workshops, demonstrations, guided exercises, and hands-on labs that accommodate diverse learning styles and technical skill levels.

  • Build customer confidence and accelerate product adoption by serving as a trusted advisor throughout the learning journey.
  • Maintain expertise across assigned solution areas while continuously learning new Manhattan products, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Prepare and deliver enablement for new product releases by rapidly developing product expertise and ensuring customers are prepared to successfully adopt new functionality.

Customer Consulting & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Product Management, Product Development, Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales, Support, and Learning Experience Designers to identify enablement needs and deliver scalable learning solutions.
  • Consult with customers and internal stakeholders to recommend effective enablement approaches that support business objectives and successful product adoption.
  • Capture customer insights, recurring questions, implementation challenges, and product feedback during engagements and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Influence enablement strategy by identifying opportunities to improve customer adoption, delivery quality, and operational effectiveness.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization to ensure learning programs remain aligned with business priorities and product strategy.

Learning Content Contribution
  • Partner with Learning Experience Designers by providing product expertise, customer insights, demonstrations, recorded workflows, sample configurations, and technical examples that support the development of scalable learning experiences.
  • Review learning materials to validate technical accuracy, usability, and alignment with current product functionality.
  • Develop and maintain instructor resources, job aids, quick reference guides, FAQs, demonstration recordings, and other supporting enablement assets.
  • Recommend improvements to learning experiences based on customer interactions, learner feedback, product changes, and delivery experience.

Learning Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness using learner feedback, assessment results, customer insights, and business outcomes.
  • Analyze recurring trends to identify opportunities for improving learning programs, customer adoption, and enablement effectiveness.
  • Recommend enhancements to delivery methods, supporting resources, and enablement processes that improve learner experience and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen customer outcomes and overall enablement quality.

AI & Innovation
  • Leverage AI-powered productivity tools responsibly to improve preparation, documentation, customer engagement, demonstrations, and supporting enablement materials.
  • Apply AI to accelerate research, summarize technical concepts, draft knowledge resources, create demonstration content, and improve operational efficiency while maintaining technical accuracy and quality.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve enablement scalability and learner experience.
  • Share AI best practices, reusable assets, technical demonstrations, and lessons learned that improve team effectiveness and customer outcomes.

Professional Contribution
  • Mentor less experienced consultants through coaching, peer reviews, delivery observations, and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote collaboration by contributing reusable demonstrations, best practices, technical examples, and delivery techniques.
  • Independently manage complex customer engagements with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for complex learning and enablement challenges.
  • Contribute to strategic enablement initiatives and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and customer success.

Qualifications
