As a Learning & Development Specialist, you'll play a vital role in building employee capability and supporting professional growth through meaningful learning experiences. You will be responsible for assessing business needs, developing learning solutions, and managing the LMS to support professional development programs that help employees grow and succeed. This role focuses on professional development and organizational learning, excluding technical repair and maintenance training.

Location: Hybrid or remote. This position can be based out of any of our facilities in Canada. A remote work arrangement may be available for this role, depending on business needs and candidate qualifications.

What you'll do:

Instructional Design & Learning Solutions

  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify learning needs and recommend effective learning solutions.
  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning experiences across instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, and performance support formats.
  • Create engaging, accessible, and visually compelling learning materials using instructional design and multimedia best practices.
  • Manage translation and localization of learning content.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead learning projects from planning through implementation, managing timelines, communications, and deliverables.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization, influence stakeholders, and drive adoption of learning solutions and standards.

Learning Systems & Governance

  • Own and administer the Learning Management System (Absorb), including course creation, curricula, enrollment rules, troubleshooting, and data integrity (excluding technical training plans).
  • Manage the LMS course catalog, including content updates, version control, archiving, and organization.
  • Establish learning governance, compliance frameworks, LMS standards, documentation, and content ownership practices.

Learning Operations

  • Build and continuously improve learning intake and ticketing system using Smartsheet with workflows, automation and reporting processes.
  • Train and support LMS administrators and end users by developing documentation and onboarding resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Learning & Development, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating learning programs using instructional design best practices.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE and Kirkpatrick).
  • Business acumen with the ability to identify learning needs and translate them into practical learning solutions.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Experience with Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline), Synthesia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and other instructional design or multimedia development tools.
  • Experience with Absorb LMS and integrated business applications.
  • Education or experience in the aviation/aerospace or manufacturing industry is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven project management, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
