The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is a high-level strategic role responsible for managing all employee relations activities, performance management, sensitive investigations, and policy development. This role acts as a primary advisor to Human Resource Business Partners and senior leadership, ensuring a positive work environment, fair and equal treatment of employees, mitigating organizational risk, and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Trust and Integrity: Act ethically and honestly in all areas of the role while modeling our Company Mission, Values and Standards. Ability to build strong relationships within the organization and empathize with others.
  • Accountability:Ability to set and prioritize objectives and meet commitments. Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strategic Advisory: Ability to think strategically and conceptually. Advise business partners and senior leaders on employee relations issues, trends, and strategies to build morale, increase productivity, mitigate risk and improve employee retention.
  • Investigations and Grievances: Lead and resolve highly sensitive, complex investigations in employee misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and grievances.
  • Performance Management: Oversee and provide coaching on performance management, employee counseling, and complex disciplinary actions, including terminations.
  • Policy Development: Develop, revise, and implement company-wide policies, procedures, and code of conduct to ensure consistency, fairness, and legal compliance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all human resource practices align with federal and state compliance (EEO, ADA, FLSA) to protect the Company.
  • Training and Leadership: Design and deliver training programs on employee relations topics.
  • Data Analysis:Utilize sound business judgement in identifying trends in exit interviews, engagement surveys, and case management tracking to recommend proactive solutions to Company issues.

Required Skills:

  • SHRM Certification: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP required.
  • Employment Law: Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Investigation Expertise: Proven experience in conducting thorough, objective, and evidence-based investigations.
  • Communication/Relationships/Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate/negotiate/ influence/mediate at all levels. Excellent customer service, facilitation, interpersonal and mentoring skills. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Sound business acumen and ability to translate human resource data into actionable insights.
  • Technical / Software: Excellent computer skills including the understanding of HRIS systems (UKG Ready & Paycom a plus) and Microsoft Office software.

Desired Skills:

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of Human Resource experience, with a significant emphasis on employee relations, investigations, and labor relations. Fast paced hospitality experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
