Who You'll Work With:

We are looking for a senior client facing Advisor with a successful track record in insurance General Account sales to join AB's growing North American Insurance team. Along with managing our broad insurance business, the team is responsible for serving and retaining our current General Account clients and to growing our business in North America (US, Canada and Bermuda). The candidate will partner across AB with our Insurance Business Development, Investment (Fixed Income, Private/Public Alternatives, Equities, Multi-Asset), Distribution (Subadvisory, Institutional, etc.) and Operations/IT/Fiduciary Services teams to quarterback a team approach for a select group of Insurers as we build relationships, deepen trust, and develop new business with Chief Investment Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Risk Officers, and their staffs.

What You'll Do:

As a senior external-facing member of our North American Insurance team, critical responsibilities include the servicing, growth, and retention of existing clients and the development of new business with prospects. The Advisor will also support other firm-wide initiatives such as the broader Global Client Group's development and knowledge sharing, global insurance strategy development, new product development, talent development (especially for our future advisors).

To support AB's growth goals in the Insurance General Account (GA) space, success in the Advisor role will be tied to:

  • Growth in AB's GA client base (breadth/number of clients, depth of services for each clients, growth of existing clients)

  • Leveraging experience to help build AB's brand as a leader in the Insurance GA management space

  • Development of strategic partnerships with large, complex Insurance, Reinsurance and PE backed companies

  • Building Trust with internal AB clients globally, especially with investment, insurance operations, and business development

  • Proactive time management and focus on highest probability of success and value added activities

  • Helping to develop the GA base/territory strategy and then proactively creating a prospecting and base management plan including strategic overviews of key relationships

  • Lead/Facilitate mutually agreed upon number of prospecting meetings (emphasizing quality over quantity)

  • Partnering with AB thought leaders and experts to develop intellectual capital and new product development within our Insurance, investment services, or broader firm focus areas

  • Quickly becoming a valued partner who supports colleagues, values professional development and lifelong learning. Serves as a mentor and coach for AB's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and professional development programs.

  • Willingness to travel as required to meet internal and external client needs

  • Ten or more years of successful Insurance related GA sales and client servicing experience. Additional experience in insurance portfolio management or fixed income portfolio management would be especially valued

  • Bachelor's degree. MBA and/or CFA, FSA, CAIA, etc. is preferred. Passion for lifelong learning and coaching

  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or equivalent; can be acquired post hire)
