Senior IT Business Transformation Consultant

Location: New York, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote
Duration: 12 Months
Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Business Transformation Consultant to work closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders to develop, monitor, and implement transformational initiatives across a large organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong management consulting background, extensive experience in business/IT transformation, process improvement, change management, and large-scale IT programs. The candidate should be comfortable operating in a high-profile, fast-paced environment and presenting strategic recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Prior Management Consulting experience is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with department leadership to develop, track, monitor, and implement business and IT transformation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for IT process improvement and develop strategies to address operational challenges and bottlenecks.
  • Lead efforts to improve operational efficiency by formalizing and streamlining business processes and procedures.
  • Conduct process reviews, SOP assessments, risk profiling, and SLA reviews to identify risks and improvement opportunities across core business processes.
  • Support due diligence and operational reviews across business functions and develop recommendations for process improvement and transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare and present business cases, findings, benefits, and recommendations to stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Compile and track departmental priorities and assist teams with developing and maintaining work plans.
  • Monitor key initiatives, track progress, identify risks/issues, and escalate concerns to leadership when appropriate.
  • Contribute hands-on to large-scale IT programs and technology-related projects.
  • Design and implement performance scorecards covering areas such as productivity, service levels, quality, risk, and transaction costs.
  • Lead or support organizational change management initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements and support technology implementation efforts.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, process reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to develop actionable recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Utilize AI prompting and AI agent creation capabilities to support business transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of professional business experience.
  • Prior Management Consulting experience – Required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Lean certification, Six Sigma training, or comparable process-improvement qualification – Required.
  • Strong experience in business transformation, IT transformation, or process improvement.
  • Significant change management experience.
  • Experience with project management and work-plan development.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership and professional communication skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-profile and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience translating business requirements into functional requirements for technology solutions.
